Green Day to cover song by John Lennon

Instant KarmaGreen Day will appear on upcoming CD “Instant Karma: The Campaign To Save Dafur” with the cover song “Working Class Hero”. The CD will be released on June 12th, 2007.

Warner Bros. Records in the United States, in conjunction with Amnesty International USA (AIUSA), will release “Instant Karma: The Campaign to Save Darfur” - a CD of more than 20 iconic songs by John Lennon recorded by an array of best-selling artists, including Green Day, R.E.M., Christina Aguilera, Jack Johnson, and Snow Patrol, as well as Corinne Bailey Rae, Regina Spektor, The Postal Service, and many more.

Additional singles from various artists will be released in the weeks leading up to June 12th. Proceeds will support Amnesty International, the world’s largest grassroots human rights organization, and its campaign to focus attention and mobilize activism around the urgent catastrophe in Darfur, Sudan, and other human rights crises.

Green Day in The Simpsons Movie

Yes it’s true. In the upcoming The Simpsons Movie you will find Green Day. In the latest trailer you can see short (almost unvisible, but folks from greendayauthority.com found it) sequence with the group sinking on a ship. The Simpsons Movie will premiere in July 2007. Watch the trailer.

Green Day on Live Earth Concert?

Ex-Vice President Al Gore revealed plans for Live Earth - the Concert for a Climate in Crisis, a series of seven concerts set to take place across the globe July 7. More then 100 music artists will perform live in US, China, UK, Brazil, Antarctica, South Africa, Japan and Australia.

The first 25 confirmed performers include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Fall Out Boy, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, Lenny Kravitz, Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, John Legend, the Black Eyed Keas, Akon, Enrique Iglesias, Mana, Keane, Kelly Clarkson, Korn, AFI, Paolo Nutini, Bloc Party, Damien Rice, Corinne Bailey Rae and Melissa Etheridge, among others. 75 more are expected to be announced.

There are some rumors that Green Day could be one of the artists to be announced soon. More information about the concerts can be found for example on Live Earth Concerts. I hope we will find out more informationĀ in next few weeks.


Green Day & U2 Did Not Win 49th Grammy Awards

It’s hard to say but this year Green Day did not win the Grammy Award. They were nominated in “Duo orĀ group with vocals” category together with U2 for “The Saints Are Coming” but the winner is Red Hot Chili Peppers with Dani California. See the Grammy results.
